The story is a post-apocalyptic romance. Ten years previously science had caused some people to change to evil paranormals-werewolves, ghouls, vampires. In the town of Sanctuary, they knew how to protect themselves pretty well. They had a lot of defenses against the evil beings that mostly prevented them from coming into the town. Mason was in charge, because of his military training, and it was a hard life.The town's defenses didn't keep out Andy, though. Mason can tell she isn't just human, but their charms don't bother her and he can't place what she is. Andy has spent the last ten years learning to deal with what she is--a grim reaper. She focuses on killing evil paranormals and humans and sending them on to hell.
Andy and Mason have an intense attraction. At first, Mason sends her out of town, since he doesn't know what she it. Then she helps them, and he follows her to make sure she is okay. Their strong attraction brings them together.
Things go bad and they all work to save everyone, and Mason finds out first hand what she is.
This is a very good story. I enjoyed seeing the author's ideas of how people would react to the changed world and the things that happen. Though they are hardened, I really liked the main characters and the way we could see they were good through and through. This story had some good action sequences, and some loving, and it was very good.

Reaper End of Days Book 1 eBook Mina Carter Reviews
I've been reading a lot of New Species and this book was a nice change of pace. However, my interest was not piqued by any of the other books she has written.
I really liked this book - I wish it was longer and had a bit more to it, but I love the idea and the world Carter painted. Her books are always great.
Ok, Take the Mad Max post bomb world, but the cause was not a bomb. The cause was scientist releasing something that morphs DNA into legendary creatures Vampires, werewolves, banshees, witches, etc. Now take a female who turned into the grim reaper. She walks the roads delivering souls to their afterlife... whether they want to go or not. The female grim reaper reaches one of the isolated besieged "human only" towns. This is where the fun starts. This is one of my favorite Mina Carter's to date. I am reading up on the others, but his one really held me to the end. The romance was very well written. It was not implausible, to fast, or to slow. It was just right. So, if you liked Mad Max and like paranormal romances, this is the book for you.
Reaper, End of Days. Loved it! A great quick read. Great world building. Post apocalypse, with paranormals, which I found refreshing, a nice change from the typical zombie or freakish mutants. Then there is the Reaper, Lady Death. Really loved Lady Death. A great pre Halloween treat!
In some short stories you feel cheated, it is either part of a story where you need to know the characters from other books, or simply too short to tell a story. This is neither. It is a GOOD short story, and it is one that makes me wish it were part of another story so I could read it in it's entirity. This story was far and away the best short story I think I have read in a long time. And I find that I hope that a longer book is written about Andy, Mason and the town of Sanctuary.
Okay, I'll be honest this was my very first Mina Carter book and I was a little scared and then I was blown away. The end of world stuff always makes my eyes glaze over but her depth of world building, descriptions, actions it all kept me wide awake and didn't skip a single line. The mains were fantastic and the male lead had me trying to figure him out the entire length of the book. Andy KICKED ASS!!! She rocked, total badass and everyone was so afraid of her...except our guy. He was so hot and cool as a cucumber. Who knew that even a reaper had her very own other half.
I love this book, it was action-packed, romantic, interesting and very well developed. I highly recommend it.
This being my first Mina Carter novel, I initially had nothing to go on but the description. Since I love post-apocalypse stories and the price was right, I decided to give Reaper a try and was very glad I did.
One thing you should know is that the book is short. When I first downloaded it to my kindle I was kinda peeved for paying $3 for it.(yeah, I'm cheap) However I enjoyed the book very much and it was well worth it.
I'm not a fast reader and it only took me about 2 hrs to read. This is my only complaint because I would have loved to get to know the characters on a deeper level. Andy was amazing and the fight scenes were well written and exciting. The story line was great, with the romance not being too overpowering, just how I like it. I would have loved to see much more on her back story as well as world building because it was basically nonexistent. It was a great novel, but lack of pages held it back from being an amazing one.
Everything wraps up nicely in the end and it in no way hints of a sequel, but I would like see more of Andy and Mason. Better yet, a prequel for Andy would kick ass!!
