I absolutely love this book. It's great fun to see the little girl from earlier books once again make a return appearance as well as the little red bird that provides cheerful company to Brodsky's first two books. The dog, however, is based on the author's very own late pooch, Cali, a gorgeous Dogue de Bordeaux, and is great fun to watch in action through the beautiful illustration work of Brodsky's illustrator, the talented Cameron Bennett. He captures every little nuance in the expressions and body language of this dog, and the end result is fantastic to follow as Brodsky's 'it's a dog's life' adventure unfolds.You don't have to be a dog lover to appreciate this book, but if you are on, you'll be completely delighted by it and find yourself chuckling at the hi-jinks this dog gets into. Kids and dogs are a natural and they will definitely enjoy this book. As usual, Brodsky has some great questions to invoke solid discussion at the end of the book, perfect for parents, teachers and other child-centric adults to pursue with youngsters.

For anyone who has ever had a dog in their life, this book will make you smile. Kathy Brodsky and her illustrator, Cameron Bennett have so captured the personality of dogs and shared it with us in this wonderful book. It will make you smile and want to read it over and over.
This book is about a special dog and how he and his human family have fun all day long. The pictures a great and follow the story well. If your child likes dogs, this is a great book to read to them!
This book is a must read for anyone who loves dogs. The main character is a Dogue de Bordeaux (a rare French breed recently accepted into the AKC). She tells what it's like to be a dog in a rhyming manner which children will love. The author captures the attitude of this dog breed perfectly and I found myself laughing throughout the book. When I wasn't laughing, I was in awe of the magnificent illustrations. I'm eagerly awaiting the author's next childrens' book.
Kathy Brodsky is a local NH author. She donated this book to our PTO so that we could use it at our Reading Under the Stars event. At the end of the event, we were able to donate all of the books from local authors to our town library, which is also the library utilized for the school. It was a wonderful teaching opportunity as the students were able to read books from people that are from our state and it helped them to realize their potential later in life. We greatly appreciation her generosity!
